Barbara Ann Brennan, a former research scientist for NASA and energy healer, presents an extensive outline of human energy systems. In her book Hands of Light, A Guide to Healing Through the Human Energy Field she outlines 7 major chakras each having two separate components on the front and rear of the body, and an additional 21 minor chakras. Most traditional systems use between 3-6 chakras, so the 7 chakra system is sometimes referred to as the “New Age” chakra system.
